Commercial solar panels are ideally suited for both the demands and the opportunities afforded by a modern commercial facility. Unlike houses, commercial facilities need a larger power draw than the standard 120 volt power grid that feeds our homes. Power companies accommodate this by giving commercial customers options in multiples of that 120v base.

Commercial solar panels are also able to create more than the standard 120 volt current so that the modern business can be run off grid, if the business owner so desires.  The other major difference between a commercial installation and a home one is usually the installation angle.

Homeowners tend to want to put their solar panels on the roof. This is also the case in many commercial solar panel installations, however the difference is in the roof itself. Many home roofs are peaked, while the norm for a business is to have a flat roof. Flat roofs allow for a larger number of panels to be placed on them, because the panels can be angled up off the roof and set in rows. This requires more mounting, but it also allows a business owner to get more power per foot of roof space than a homeowner can.
