What amount of power can be produced with this system?
60 watt solar panel = 3.58 amps of solar energy per hour of direct sun.
3.58 X 5 hours of direct sun = about 17 amp-hrs per day
17 AH X 7 days/ week = 119 amp-hours per week. 119 X 12V = about 1400 watt-hours of energy in one week. If you have more sun (in summer) then you have more power, if you have less sun (in winter), then you have less power.
At about 11 watts per hour of use, you can power the included 12V CFL bulb for many hours.
A few examples of power usage of some devices:
Laptop computers: 40-90 watts per hour of use.
19" TV: 95 watts
17" monitor: 120 watts
17" LCD monitor: 40 watts
Box fans: up to 100 watts
Radio: 20-75 watts
The top-of-the-line ProStar 15M charge controller gives you accurate information such as your battery voltage and state of charge, solar amps coming in and more. At 15 amps max. current, you can easily add more panels to your system.
Use the included 12V DC female socket to charge cellphones, camera batteries, AA/AAA batteries and to plug-in your DC clamp light. The 300 Watt modified sine wave inverter will power many 120V AC loads up to 300 watts.
Optional Kill-a-Watt meter lets you know how much power all your devices use.
Add a second solar panel for a total of 120 watts of solar. Includes connectors to connect two panels together in parallel.
Experiment, have fun with this great solar kit!
